Clean, Locked Reference with the FPLO5774 PLXO
A GPS-disciplined or house reference gives long-term accuracy, but it often carries too much noise to drive RF circuits directly. The FPLO5774 phase locked oscillator from FCD-Tech B.V. locks to an external 5 or 10 MHz reference and outputs a clean signal with typical phase noise of −162 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz offset, combining reference accuracy with OCXO-grade spectral purity.
Key Specifications & Performance Features
Built as a ready-to-use reference cleanup and translation module, the FPLO5774 delivers any output frequency from 10 to 125 MHz.
Key advantages include:
- Low Phase Noise: At 10 MHz, typical −131.9 dBc/Hz at 10 Hz, −152.7 dBc/Hz at 100 Hz and −172.8 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset.
- Flexible Reference Input: Accepts 5 MHz, 10 MHz or both, at 0 to +13 dBm, with lock detect output and 15-second typical lock time.
- Stable Free-Running Performance: ±2 ppb typical over 0 °C to +50 °C, with aging of ±0.5 ppb per day if the reference is lost.
- Output Choice: Sine wave at +12 dBm typical into 50 Ω with spurious below −70 dBc, or CMOS for digital timing.
- Low Jitter: RMS jitter below 1 ps, integrated from 12 kHz to 5 MHz.
- Flexible Supply: 12 V or 5 V operation, 138 mA typical steady state at 12 V, in a 57 x 74 mm module with SMA connectors.
Applications
Satellite communication terminals, telecom infrastructure, GNSS-disciplined frequency references, RF test systems and low-jitter signal sources.
