Hydrogen Maser

Passive / Active Hydrogen Maser

Hydrogen Maser Frequency Standards
When a timing laboratory, VLBI station or GNSS ground segment needs a reference beyond cesium, the hydrogen maser is the benchmark. FCD-Tech B.V. supplies both passive and active hydrogen masers in rack-mount chassis, from cost-effective 10 MHz references to flagship standards reaching 4×10⁻¹⁶ per day.

Passive Hydrogen Maser – SHAO10M
Key Specifications & Performance Features: A 10 MHz standard in a 4U, 20 kg chassis with dual SMA outputs and RS-232/LAN control. Typical day-scale stability is 2.00×10⁻¹⁵ for the high-performance version and 6.33×10⁻¹⁵ for the standard version.

Applications: Telecom primary reference clocks, GNSS ground stations and calibration laboratories that need maser-grade stability at a lower cost of ownership.

Compact Active Hydrogen Masers – FCNU-2310-PRO / MAX
Key Specifications & Performance Features: Dual 5 MHz and dual 10 MHz outputs in a 4U chassis weighing only 10–12 kg. Allan deviation reaches ≤9.0×10⁻¹⁶ per day (MAX), with long-term drift ≤1×10⁻¹⁵ per day after one year, phase noise ≤−155 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz (5 MHz) and magnetic sensitivity ≤1×10⁻¹⁴ per Gauss.

Applications: National timekeeping, metrology, tracking and navigation, and cooperative timing network nodes.

High-Performance Active Hydrogen Masers – FCNU-2520-PRO / MAX
Key Specifications & Performance Features: 5, 10 and 100 MHz outputs plus a 1 PPS timing output. The PRO combines a high-Q dielectric cavity with a hybrid sorption and ion pump vacuum system. Allan deviation reaches ≤4.0×10⁻¹⁶ per day (MAX), with drift ≤5×10⁻¹⁶ per day and temperature sensitivity ≤5×10⁻¹⁵ per °C.

Applications: Radio astronomy and VLBI, deep-space tracking, master clocks for national time scales and reference sources for time and frequency measurement systems.

Choosing the Right Maser
Choose the SHAO10M for a cost-effective 10 MHz master reference, the FCNU-2310 for active-maser performance in a compact, lightweight chassis, and the FCNU-2520 when lowest drift, 100 MHz output and 1 PPS timing matter most.
